Oppo, need your help. Friends wife wants an SUV, friend has capped the budget at $15k. She wants lux or near lux. So far I’ve sent her a few Grand Cherokee’s, a couple XC60's, an RX.... All in the 2012ish vintage and all under 70k miles. Find me the best SUV available for under $15k....

For $15k, this would be my pick. Sure, it’s not as nice as those, but you still get a lot of the same features.

I’m pretty sure the answer to best SUV is always two-door Tahoe

2005 X5, V8. Seems to be in decent condition. 55K miles.

Is there a limit on year/mileage? Is the mileage is not a concern you can get into a 08 Q7 in Denver.

We were very happy with my wife’s Mazda CX-9. Sold it to my sister a few years back with 190k on the odo, and now she and her kids are loving it.

So she wants an Escalade? Cayenne? Matthew Mcconaughey hologram and actual reliability she can feel good about herself with?

Armadas and QX56/80s are best avoided. They eat transmissions and catalytic converters like crazy.

XC60's a good choice but I’d be wary of one that cheap yet that new.

Lincoln MKX, MKC, older Navigator, Toyota /Lexus, XC90, XC70....

FX35! First gens are easily within that range with 60-80k miles

I’ve got a few doing a search... I used Kansas City as my base of operations.

2011 SRX

2009 RDX

2011 Crosstour (I know they’re ugly, but they drive nice)

2011 Q5 (it’s an Audi, so who knows with reliability)

Acura RDX, my mom almost bought one a month or so ago but then my brother totaled his car so they’re getting him something else. Also Nissan Murano, those are surprisingly quiet and comfortable
